We had a unique opportunity  recently – replacing the windshield on a Jaguar, which the owner bought after he won a few thousand bucks on a scratch ticket!   This 1987 Jaguar, with 60k original miles, was leaking down in the bottom corner. After inspection, it looked like the chrome trim on the driver’s-side bottom was not installed into the gasket correctly. This, combined with the age of the original moulding and its being dry rotted, was causing the issue.   After we had finished, the customer was elated. He couldn’t be happier with the outcome! In the few seconds the commercial was on, we were astonished to see a funny replacement technique being used. The installer didn’t use suction cups to hold the windshield as it was slid into place! With all of the crazy winter weather we’ve been having in the Northeast (100+ inches of snow in a month!), auto repair shops and tow services have been having a very busy month.
