Attention To Detail: 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
We did the windshield replacement on this 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee right here in Woburn.
This customer had called Titan after researching windshield replacements. He saw our website and loved that fact we paid attention to detail. He had a pretty serious problem that we were happy to help with. On his initial call, he had a bunch of questions that we answered in depth. His problem: when he would shut the vehicle door, the glass would rattle – something we have seen before.
When we arrived, we spoke with the owner for a few minutes, and started to take off the necessary components while diagnosing the problem. It was found right away: adhesive failure. The windshield was the original windshield from when the vehicle was made. The black band that goes around the windshield serves a purpose, and it is not just decorative; its purpose is to block the sun’s UV rays from breaking down the urethane. Since the band was faded, there was no adhesion. The windshield was only being held in by 1 side – scary stuff!
The customer, being an engineer, wanted to watch the process – no problem! We explained what the failure was, and why it needed to be replaced. We explained the process of the removal, the prep, and the replacement of the new windshield. He was amazed at everything it takes to have it done safely and correctly. In the end he was ecstatic that he made the correct choice by calling Titan. After letting the vehicle sit an hour before driving, he was on his way to his mechanic to recommend us as his go-to glass company.
